Money lost, money found - News from King George

From Fredericksburg.com:

"These are my favorite kinds of stories:

Guy loses money two days before Christmas, guy is distraught. Had $700 in a bank envelope, which somehow disappeared from the time he left the bank in Dahlgren to when he arrived at his daughter’s house a few miles away. Retraces his steps, goes back to the bank, but their cameras show nothing.

Man thinks money is gone. And it’s a big chunk of change for a man living off disability, trying to support his daughter, who lost her job last year. He planned to buy her a used car with the money.

Then, nothing short of a miracle happens. ALMOST THREE WEEKS LATER, another man–who happens to be a crime-scene investigator–happens to spot some money by the side of the road. He calls the sheriff’s department, and he and the deputy scour the area for clues. They find a BB&T envelope, go to the local branch, and the teller immediately knows who lost a pile of cash. “Was it $700?” she asks. She produces paperwork to show her customer had withdrawn the money–35 twenty-dollar bills, to be exact–and that’s just what the crime-scene investigator found." read more>>
